<p>In recognition of  World Cancer Day, Moving Hearts and the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) collaborated to raise awareness about cancer “screening in Malaysia.” Intending to promote early cancer screening and detection, this campaign targeted audiences ensuring the message reaches people who can benefit the most. Leveraging digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising, which allows a single screen to reach hundreds of people, the medium was chosen to educate the public and foster vital conversations about cancer prevention.</p>



<p><strong>Cancer in Malaysia:</strong> Cancer remains a significant health issue in Malaysia, with thousands of new cases being diagnosed annually. It affects people of all ages and genders, making it a critical public health concern. The <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/divisions-offices/about-the-division-of-cancer-prevention-and-control.html">Centers for Disease Control &amp; Prevention</a> highlights that many types of cancer are preventable through regular screening and preventive measures. Despite this, a lack of awareness about screening and prevention hinders early detection efforts.</p>



<p><strong>Campaign Objectives:</strong> NCSM set clear objectives for this campaign:</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Raise Widespread Awareness:</strong> The primary goal was to inform the public about the importance of cancer prevention and early detection.</li>



<li><strong>Encourage Screening:</strong> Promote regular screenings and preventive lifestyle measures among all age groups.</li>



<li><strong>Drive Conversations:</strong> Foster meaningful discussions around health and cancer prevention.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Solution: </strong>Moving Hearts played a role in executing this campaign through DOOH advertising by deploying a network of four digital billboards across high-traffic locations in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor from February 4th to 10th, 2024, coinciding with World Cancer Day. This strategic placement ensured maximum visibility and engagement. The campaign was executed using the OOH demand-side platform<a href="https://www.movingwalls.com"> MAX</a>, which features an in-built data management system. This demand-side platform helped to identify the right locations, inventories, and timings by providing our target criteria such as audience and geography. Simultaneously, the supply-side platform<a href="https://www.lmx.ai"> LMX</a> was utilised to filter and select the optimal OOH inventories from a vast pool, ensuring an effective and impactful campaign.</p>



<p><strong>Results:</strong></p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Reach:</strong> The campaign achieved 977,550 impressions and reached 125,129 unique individuals over seven days.</li>



<li><strong>Locations:</strong> Ads were played on digital billboards located in high-density areas including Raja Chauhan, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Tun Razak, and Jalan Kuching for widespread visibility in Klang Valley.</li>



<li><strong>Dayparted Delivery:</strong> Ads were scheduled during high commute hours in the morning and evening to maximise impact and impressions.</li>



<li><strong>Engaging Visuals:</strong> The campaign featured a short video delivering the message about the benefits of early detection of cancer and simple screening procedures.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Moving Hearts&#8217; Commitment to Social Change:</strong> This campaign underscores Moving Hearts&#8217; commitment to supporting charities causes and brands in their efforts to address social challenges. By illuminating the path to cancer prevention, the partnership between Moving Hearts and NCSM is a testament to the impact of targeted advertising in public health initiatives.</p>



<p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>The collaboration between Moving Hearts and the National Cancer Society Malaysia on World Cancer Day was a resounding success. By strategically leveraging DOOH advertising, they raised awareness about cancer, encouraged early screening, and fostered vital conversations around health. This campaign not only highlighted the importance of preventive measures but also demonstrated the power of targeted, data-driven advertising in driving social change.</p>

As we aim for a more environmentally conscious future, accurate measurement and responsible practices are essential. UNESCO is launching World Metrology Day on 20th May 2024 which will be celebrated every year. This year’s theme is aptly named &#8220;Sustainability,&#8221; highlighting the role of measurement in fostering a sustainable global economy and environment which aligns perfectly with the mission of Moving Hearts 2.0.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sustainability in Media</h2>



<p>Moving Hearts is taking initiatives to enhance the OOH advertising sector through ethical and environmentally responsible practices. Our flagship program seamlessly adopts ESG principles into every aspect of our operations, setting better standards for sustainable advertising.</p>



<p>Through our Roadmap to Net Zero Carbon Emission in OOH Advertising initiative, Moving Hearts 2.0 actively strives to forge sustainable partnerships with media owners &amp; advocate for the adoption of renewable energy sources across the OOH advertising landscape. We also run digital, awareness campaigns by producing &amp; disseminating critical information &amp; educational content to raise awareness on responsible advertising best practices, inspiring stakeholders to make conscious choices that prioritizes environmental preservation.</p>

<p>For more than a year, Moving Hearts has been actively connecting charities and important causes with available DOOH inventory for outdoor advertising, spreading their message and raising awareness. Moving Hearts 2.0 aims to set new standards for eco-friendly practices in the industry. This initiative will not only help reduce greenhouse gas emissions but also inspire other companies to adopt greener practices. We strive to make a significant positive impact on both the advertising world and the environment, ensuring that the messages that matter most are delivered in the most sustainable way possible. Measuring how efficiently energy is used in outdoor advertising is important for reducing harm to the environment.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Our Approach</h3>



<p>Our approach is to partner with media owners and stakeholders to set standards and for reporting energy usage across various types of digital billboards as well as guidelines for printing materials for static billboards. This involves creating a framework to measure and track energy consumption and carbon footprint.</p>



<p>Moving Hearts 2.0 plans to encourage media owners to switch to renewable energy sources, like solar or wind power, to run their displays. This can cut down on the energy consumption caused by outdoor advertising.</p>



<p>Also, Moving Hearts 2.0 will team up with tech companies to promote the development and use of energy-efficient hardware for outdoor advertising. This includes displays that use less power, better lighting tech, and smart systems that adjust brightness or turn off displays when they&#8217;re not needed.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Measuring for a Greener Future</h3>



<p>Embracing metrology in the OOH advertising industry can pave the way for numerous sustainable initiatives by Moving Hearts. For instance, precise energy consumption measurements can guide the implementation of energy-efficient technologies, such as solar-powered billboards or LED displays with optimized brightness levels. Additionally, metrological data can inform the development of eco-friendly materials and sustainable sourcing practices, reducing waste and promoting a circular economy approach.</p>

The campaigns reached over 1 million hearts globally and reflected our progress as we expanded our reach to a new market, reflecting our commitment to driving social impact through DOOH.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Empowering Early Breast Cancer Screening in Malaysia</strong></h4>



<p>To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Moving Hearts partnered with the nonprofit organization Healthy Malaysia to raise awareness about the need for early breast cancer screening and detection.</p>



<p>Moving Hearts launched a Digital Out-Of-Home campaign in Kuala Lumpur on large-format digital billboards. The campaign aimed to encourage women to get screened for breast cancer by highlighting the high survival rate for early-stage breast cancer. The campaign creative included a call to action with a QR code that directed women to register for a free breast cancer screening program from 9 am to 2 pm at Datum Mall, Jelatek, Kuala Lumpur.</p>



<p>Moving Hearts deployed the campaign on DOOH screens provided by leading media partners DANA Screen and LEDtronics, targeting locations with increased footfall and a significant female demographic. The campaign&#8217;s strategic targeting and impactful messaging highlight the power of DOOH to drive awareness and promote meaningful initiatives. </p>



<p>Furthermore, the campaign demonstrated the value of first-party data in engaging the targetted audiences on the move. Audiences exposed to the campaign pDOOH ads were likelier to engage and follow through.</p>



<p>Being a one-to-many medium, pDOOH is ideal for driving reach and awareness, and the campaign campaign succeeded on both counts. It garnered a whopping 882,000 audience impressions in less than three weeks.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Inspiring Action in Vietnam: Making a Splash with Our Launch</strong></h4>



<p>In honor of World Children&#8217;s Day 2023, we announced our exciting launch in Vietnam with AdTrue, a leading media partner.</p>



<p><strong>Saigon Children’s Charity</strong> &#8211; Saigon Children’s Charity (Saigonchildren) is a charitable organization that has supported disadvantaged children in Vietnam for over 31 years. They help children overcome economic, geographical, skill, and disability barriers to access quality education. Saigonchildren partnered with Moving Hearts to launch a DOOH campaign, encouraging people to visit the nonprofit&#8217;s website to learn more about their efforts and support their cause.</p>



<p><strong>Global Village Foundation</strong> &#8211; The Global Village Foundation (GVF) is a nonprofit charitable organization that provides education and health care for children and rural villagers in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnam">Vietnam</a>, established in 1999 by author and humanitarian <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Ly_Hayslip">Le Ly Hayslip</a>. We collaborated with GVF, launching a DOOH campaign to raise awareness about the organization&#8217;s efforts. The campaign creative featured some of the most common names in Vietnam, empowering them to take responsibility for their ‘village’ with a final message: &#8220;Will you help our village?&#8221;.</p>



<p>Moving Hearts launched the campaigns on digital screens at Aeon Mall Tan Phu, one of the largest malls in Ho Chi Minh City, to reach a large audience and create a significant impact by spreading the nonprofit’s message. The campaigns are live and programmatically deployed to touch at least 100,000 hearts.</p>

<p>OOH media has the potential to shape public opinion, influence behaviors and bring critical issues to the forefront of society. By being physically present in public spaces, OOH advertisements can create a lasting impact and contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate world.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Moving Hearts uses Moving Walls’ advanced technology to automate the matching of registered charities to last minute DOOH inventory and also the DOOH content serving.To begin, causes are recruited on the Moving Hearts website and are validated individually. Participating publishers then have the discretion to select the causes they support.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Moving Hearts aims to achieve a set goal of reaching 100,000 hearts for each campaign, and to accomplish this, the supply-side platform (SSP) LMX Connect schedules content on a non-guaranteed model. Moving Hearts partners receive support throughout the campaign lifecycle, ensuring flawless execution and transparent accountability.</p>



<p>In just two months since its inception, Moving Hearts has made significant progress in expanding its reach across Southeast Asia. Moving Hearts launched on the International Day of Charity In Malaysia, collaborating with OOH media partners Libroff, LEDtronics, Alloy Advertising and DANA Screen to execute philanthropic DOOH campaigns for the environmentally-driven youth community organization, Youths United for Earth (YUFE) and Five Arts Centre, a local art collective that creates innovative and thought-provoking work.&nbsp;</p>



<p>In October, Moving Hearts partnered with Dana Screen and LEDtronics for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, launching a campaign for Healthy Malaysia that provided breast cancer screenings through a scannable QR code on digital displays with a message urging the importance of early detection.</p>



<p>In addition, Moving Hearts has partnered with Anjels Media in Singapore to launch an impactful campaign for World Alzheimer&#8217;s Day with Dementia Singapore, highlighting the importance of caregivers that support patients with this condition, and an awareness campaign with The Safe Space Foundation calling on everyone to prioritize their mental health.</p>



<p>Moving Hearts is a global initiative that is piloting in Southeast Asia, expanding its presence with OOH media partners in Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines.</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Moving Hearts Launches in Malaysia: A Promising Start</strong></h4>



<p>Moving Hearts kicked off on 5th September, on the International Day of Charity, with a significant milestone – launching in Malaysia. We are proud to announce partnerships with Media Owners Libroff, LEDtronics, and Alloy Advertising to execute philanthropic OOH campaigns for two incredible organizations in partnership with the fundraising platform Sokong: Youths United for Earth (YUFE) and Five Arts Centre.</p>



<p>&#8211; <strong>YUFE:</strong> Moving Hearts collaborated with YUFE, a youth-led organization at the forefront of promoting environmentalism in Malaysia. Their campaign was aimed at commemorating World Youth Day to increase awareness of youth agency for a positive change in the community. YUFE&#8217;s environmentalism campaign was launched on September 5th with several prominent screens throughout Kuala Lumpur.</p>



<p>&#8211; <strong>Five Arts Centre:</strong> The Five Arts Centre is a dynamic collective of Malaysian artists, activists, and producers dedicated to generating alternative art forms and images in the contemporary arts landscape. We provided the Five Arts Centre with DOOH media exposure to support their crowdfunding campaign to upgrade their tech equipment and settle studio and office rentals. Their campaign highlighted their 40-year contribution to the arts and culture collective, exploring diverse Malaysian identities shaped by multiple influences.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Singapore Welcomes Moving Hearts with Open Arms</strong></h4>



<p>Malaysia was just the beginning of Moving Hearts&#8217;s journey into Southeast Asia. We are thrilled to announce our expansion into Singapore with Anjels Media, where we hit the ground running with impactful campaigns.</p>



<p>&#8211; <strong>World Alzheimer&#8217;s Day Campaign with Dementia Singapore:</strong> In a heartfelt collaboration, Moving Hearts joined forces with Dementia SG to commemorate World Alzheimer&#8217;s Day on September 21st. Their DOOH campaign was aimed at raising awareness about dementia and recognizing the invaluable work of caregivers for those living with the condition. The campaign featured a 15-second audio-visual clip that was displayed on screens in areas with a higher concentration of elderly people. The screens chosen for the campaign were tailored to target the elderly population, thereby emphasizing the messaging of Dementia Singapore. </p>



<p>&#8211; <strong>Promoting Mental Health with The Safe Space Foundation:</strong> We teamed up with The Safe Space Foundation to promote awareness and offer support for those struggling with mental health issues. The Safe Space Foundation offers invaluable services that empower individuals to lead fulfilling lives by fostering community and social connections and providing empathy and support. As part of their campaign, we displayed three different creatives on screens located in various residences throughout Central Singapore. </p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Expanding Reach in Southeast Asia</strong></h4>



<p>At Moving Hearts, we aim to leverage our platform in partnership with OOH media owners to automate the execution of philanthropic DOOH campaigns, connecting media owners with charities. This month, we took significant strides toward this goal by onboarding media owners in Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines.</p>



<p>&#8211; <strong>Vietnam:</strong> Moving Hearts is now active in Vietnam, collaborating with Adtrue and Prowtech to spotlight meaningful causes and make a positive impact on society.</p>



<p>&#8211; <strong>Indonesia:</strong> Moving Hearts is excited to partner with Indo Media and MRTJ in Indonesia to amplify charitable initiatives in Indonesia.</p>
